Balnakeilly House is a 16th-century mansion in Perthshire, Scotland. The mansion had been family-owned for nearly 500 years until it was recently purchased by award-winning Danish property investor Dan Svenningsen. Having fallen instantly in love with the former family home, Svenningsen sought to bring back its joie de vivre through the help of interior designer Sophie McGown.
After having undergone extensive construction and restoration, the Balnakeilly House has been transformed into a luxury haven in the middle of the Scottish Highlands.
In the early phase of the redesign, Sophie McGown reached out to ARNE AKSEL with the task of restoring the ideals and glory of the past in unity with the new modern outlook of the Balnakeilly House.
Speaking on the collaboration and end-result, McGown says “ARNE AKSEL showed incredible flexibility throughout the process with a swift understanding of the style and atmosphere that we wanted to bring into the historic scenes of the Balnakeilly House. Though ARNE AKSEL are based in Copenhagen, they provided high agility throughout the process with flawless execution to the point of perfection”
